Canadiens team officials have finally admitted that Andrei Markov remained in Anaheim while his teammates travelled to Northern California following the game against the Ducks last night. Canadiens officials initially stonewalled when asked today the whereabouts of Markov, finally admitting that he had been left in Southern California. The ever-secretive Canadiens would not give a reason.
Markov had missed yesterday’s pre-game morning skate for a ‘therapy’ session and did not play in the 4-1 loss to the Anaheim Ducks. His teammates travelled to Northern California immediately following the game without him.

“Source close to Andrei Markov says he’s getting “medical assessment” today.”
We can all hope that the ‘meical assessment’ is just final clearance to play and not one of the many setbacks Markov has had to deal with since training camp. It has been exactly 380 days since Markov dressed for a Canadiens game; a total of 97 games including last year’s playoffs.
