Game Notes

……Chris Campoli will play his first game since the season opener in Toronto when he suffered a torn hamstring.  He replaces Alexei Emelin in the lineup who will be a healthy scratch.  At least at the outset, he’ll be paired with newcomer Tomas Kaberle.

…… Montreal is 12-2-4 in its last 18 meetings with New York, but the Islanders have won the last three.  Prior to that the Canadiens won 12 of 15.

……The last time the Canadiens lost four straight to the Islanders was Nov. 18/93 to April 4/94.

……Last week the Canadiens lost two of their three games but still collected four of a possible six points.  They have at least a point in six of their last seven games (2-1-4).   They have lost their last four at home.

……The Islanders Matt Moulson was named NHL First Star of the week on December 5th after he became the first player this season to score four goals in a game.  He did it in a win against Dallas.

Last Time Out – The Islanders were beaten 6-3 by Pittsburgh, their first loss in regulation time since Nov. 25.        Canadiens edged New Jersey 2-1 Saturday afternoon at Newark.
