The Bulldogs will have a little extra help when they play the seventh and deciding game of their AHL Western Conference final against the Texas Stars tomorrow night in Hamilton. Defenceman P.K. Subban and forward Ben Maxwell were returned to Hamilton after the Canadiens were eliminated by the Philadelphia Flyers last night in game five of the Stanley cup semi-final. Subban was promoted to the Canadiens for game six of the first round Washington series to replace Jaroslav Spacek who was suffering from vertigo problems. He played the last 14 games of the Canadiens playoff run.
For Maxwell this will be the third time he’s been returned to the Bulldogs since February. He most recent callup came on March 15th. Mostly he’s been a healthy scratch, appearing in one playoff game during the Pittsburgh series.
Hamilton lost 3-2 in overtime last night. It was the fourth overtime game in the six games so far in the series.
