….The Canadiens are looking to match a season high fourth consecutive victory.   They are nine points behind Toronto and the 8th playoff berth and only three ahead of the Eastern Conference cellar dwelling Hurricanes.

…..The Leafs had been on a 5-0-1 run before suffering one goal regulation losses at Winnipeg and Philadelphia

…..Carey Price started all three games in the current Camadiens winning streak allowing a total of four goals.

…..In Price’s three games in Toronto he’s allowed four goals, winning twice.   The most recent came Jan. 21, when he made 32 saves in a 3-1 victory. Price was in net as Montreal lost the other two meetings this season – both in October.

….Mats Sundin, the leading scorer in Maple Leafs history with 420 goals and 987 points,  will become the eleventh player in Toronto history to have his No. 13 raised to the rafters and retired in a pregame ceremony.

….The Maple Leafs open a three-game trip to Western Canada following this matchup.
