Tomas Plekanec continued his domination of the Czech Extraliga with three goals and an assist as the Kladno Knights won their third game in a row defeating Pardubice 6-3 Wednesday night. In his four games with the Knights, Plekanec has eleven points; six goals and five assists and is now tied for the league scoring lead.
For the second time this season, Kladno moved a home game to the O2 Arena in Prague where the star-studded Knights drew a Czech League record crowd of 15,705. The city of Kladno is located 25 kilometres northwest of Prague. Their home arena holds 8600, but seats only 1500.
Plekanec’ linemate Jaromir Jagr scored a goal and three assists. The line of Plekanec, Jagr and Carolina’s Jiri Tlusty registered ten scoring points.
Defenseman Tomas Kaberle made his Kladno debut and notched an assist and was minus-1 in the game.
Kladno is scheduled to play at Chomutov Friday.
In Switzerland, Yannick Weber registered an assist as Geneva won 4-2 in Fribourg Wednesday night. Weber has a point in each of his three games with Geneva, 1 goals and 2 assists plus 11 shots on goal.
Raphel Diaz was kept off the scoreboard as Zug lost at home to the Zurich Lions. Weber and Diaz will play against each other Friday night when Geneva hosts Zug.
Max Pacioretty agreed to a contract with Ambri-Piotta over the weekend but has yet to play. His team was a 4-1 loser at Biel Wednesday.
Alexei Emelin has yet to crack the Ak-Bars Kazan lineup. His team lost 3-2 in a shootout to Dynamo in Moscow Wednesday. Alex Ovechkin scored the only shootout goal and had an assist.
