Yannick Weber started and finished a home ice 3-2 win for the Geneva-Servette Eagles over HC Lugano Tuesday in one of three Swiss Leaague games featuring locked out members of the Canadiens.
With undefeated Eagles trailing 2-0 Weber scored early in the second period and then added the winning goal a 4:39 of the overtime period. In his five games with Geneva, Weber has three goals and two assists. The club has won all eight of it’s games this season, the fastest start in the history of the Swiss National League. It’s the first time they have been pushed to overtime meaning they have taken 23 of a possible 24 points. (A win is worth three points, an overtime win-2 points)
In other games, HC Zug lost at home to Biel 2-1. Raphael Diaz assisted on the only goal for Zug. In four games, Diaz has four assists.
Another frustrating night for Max Pacioretty as Ambri-Piotta lost to the Kloten Flyers 4-1. Pacioretty, in his third game with Ambri, was kept off the scoresheet and managed only one shot on goal. He scored a goal in his third on-ice shift with Ambri and has been pointless since.
The other two active locked out members of the Canadiens are playing for Kladno in the Czech Republic. Theywill play host to the Třinec Steelers Wednesday night looking for their sixth straight win.
