The Hamilton Bulldogs were shutout out by Toronto in their second pre-season game and immediately following the game assigned forward Philippe Lefebvre to the Wheeling Nailers of the East Coast Hockey League and released forward Bobby Farnham.  Twenty-eight players remain on the training camp roster.  They will need to reduce that to twenty-three before their season opener at Grand Rapids on Saturday.

An indication of the Canadiens organizational increased depth, last year the Canadiens assigned only two players, defenseman Olivier Dame-Malka and goaltender Peter Delmas, to Wheeling.  Already five have been sent to the Wheeling camp with a strong likelihood that many of the remaining six assignments will also wind up in Wheeling including one of the three goaltenders still  in Bulldogs camp.  The. Canadiens/Bulldogs share affiliation in Wheeling with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

In their two exhibition games, the Bulldogs managed only one goal against the Toronto Marlies.  They were shutout 1-0 Monday night in Brantford, Ontario after losing 3-1 in Cobourg Ontario on Friday.
