Raphael Diaz was back in the Zug lineup in a home ice 5-3 Swiss National League win over the Langnau Tigers Friday night. Diaz, who missed Tuesday’s European Cup game in Mannheim Germany, failed to register a point.
Henrik Zetterberg, in his first SNL game, had two goals and an assist.
Diaz has been troubled by a continuation of an abductor muscle/groin problem that took him out of the Canadiens lineup near the end of last season.
Defenseman Yannick Weber also failed to record a point in Geneva’s 3-0 win at Ambri-Piotta. Ambri has won only two games this season. Max Pacioretty left the team to return to North America earlier in the week.
In the Ontario Junior Hockey League, Alex Galchenyuk was limited to one assist as Sting lost 5-3 to the Mississauga Steelheads in the first of three Sting games in three nights. Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin and head coach Michel Therrien were at the game. Galchenyuk has 4 goals and 9 assists in ten games this season.
