Jaromir Jagr-Tomas Plekanec


The Tomas Plekanec line was held off  the scoresheet in Kladno’s 4-1 home ice loss to Zlin Sunday in the Czech Extraliga.   Plekanec was minus-2 as was linemate Jaromir Jagr.  In 20 games Plekanec has 14 goals and 14 assists.

In the KHL, in the Ukrianian city of Donetsk, Donbass edged Ak-Bars Kazan 3-2 in overtime.  Kazan’s Alexei Emelin led both teams with 21:24 icetime.

Chekhov will play Dynamo Minsk Tuesday.  It’s not known whether Andrei Markov will be in their lineup.   He has already missed five games with a reported rib injury.

The Swiss National League does not schedule Sunday games.  Their schedule picks up Tuesday.

In the Finnish SM-Liiga Lars Eller scored two goals and an assist in his first two games with JYP Jyväskylä.  They host HPK Hämeenlinna on Tuesday.

In Junior hockey

……..Late Saturday, Canadiens third round draft pick Tim Bozon failed to get a  point but the Kamloops Blazers beat the Prince George Cougars 5-4 in a shootout. He remains the highest scoring prospect in the Canadiens organization one point ahead of Alexander Galchenyuk.  After 24 games Bozon has 15 goals and 21 assists for 36 points, fourth overall in the Western Hockey League.

Galchenyuk was not in the lineup as the Sarnia Sting took the ice in Sault Ste. Marie Sunday night.  The team reported that was hit with the flu bug.  It’s the first game he’s missed this season.  Without him the Sting suffered a 9-2 defeat.  Going into the game Galchenyuk had 13 goals, 22 assists for 35 points in 22 games.

The Windsor Spitfires, with fourth round pick Brady Vail lost 1-0 at Owen Sound Sunday afternoon.

Charles Hudon (5th round-2012) and the Chicoutimi Sagueneens lost 4-2 Sunday in Drummondville.   Hudon was in on both Sagueneens goals, a goal and an assist.In 18 games, Hudon has 12 goals and 13 assists.                    He missed six games recovering from a concussion.
