European hockey leagues are about to take their December ten day furloughs.  Alexei Emelin and Andrei Markov played their final Kontinental Hockey League games on Friday.  Similarly, Lars Eller in Finland.

Final pre-break games were played in the Swiss National League Saturday.

Raphael Diaz – EV Zug

Raphael Diaz assisted on Zug’s only goal in a 4-1 loss at Ambri-Piotta.  He had three shots on goal.  Diaz is the highest scoring defenceman in the SNL with 7 goals and 20 assists in 26 games.  He’s recorded 61 shots on goal.

It was announced Friday that Diaz will be added to the Davos roster for the Spengler Cup Tournament December 26 to 31 in Davos contingent on the status of  NHL-CBA negotiations.

Yannick Weber scored what proved to be the game winner and had eight shots on goal as Geneva shutout Biel 3-0.  The game was played in front of 6,098 fans in Geneva.   Weber goes to the break with 4 goals and 13 assists in 27 games.  He leads the team with 94 shots on goal.

At Davois, David Desharnais failed to register a point for the first time in eight games but Fribourg shutout Davos 3-0.  In his ten games with  Fribourg-Gottéron has one goal and six assists.  Fribourg has won eight of it’s last nine games.

The only member of the European contingent of locked out Canadiens with a game to play before the ten day break is Tomas Plekanec.   Kladno will play at Sparta Prague Sunday.
