23-Scott Gomez – Alaska Aces

With the European Hockey Leagues in their annual December ten day shutdown, Centre Scott Gomez and winger Colby Armstrong were the only members of the nine active locked out Canadiens to see action Monday night.

They faced each other; Armstrong making his debut with the ECHL’s Utah Grizzlies with whom he signed last week and Gomez in his ninth game with the Alaska Aces.   Neither scored a point as Utah recorded a 2-0 win and gained a split of four games in five nights at the Sullivan Arena in Anchorage.    Armstrong’s younger brother Riley is one of Utah’s co-captains.

In his nine games with Alaska Gomez has four goals and six assists.  He missed two games with a lower body injury and another two games with food poisoning, all during a six game late November road trip.

In the American Hockey League, the Hamilton Bulldogs will play host to the Lake Erie Monsters at Copps Coliiseum Tuesday night before hitting the road for four more games starting in Chicago Thursday.

Among Canadiens prospects in junior hockey, Tim Bozon will see action Tuesday when the Kamloops Blazers visit the Calgary  Hitmen while defencemen Darren Dietz and Dalton Thrower of the Saskatoon Blades will play Brandon..
