On December 4th the Hamilton Bulldogs sent LW Alain Berger and defenceman Joe Stejskal to their ECHL affiliate in Wheeling West Virginia.   Berger has decided not to report and has signed a two year contract with the SC Bern in the Swiss National League.

Alain Berger – Signs Two-Year Swiss League Contract

The Swiss-born Berger was signed as an undrafted free agent after competing his junior career with the OHL’s Oshawa Generals.  In his final year of junior hockey the 6’4″ Berger scored  29 goals.  Because of his lack of speed, he was never able to translate those statistics into professional hockey.  In 56 games with the Bulldogs he scored one goal and six assists.

At Bern he will be playing with his older brother Pascal.
