Tomas Plekanec assisted on the game tying goal and the game winner as Kladno came from behind in the final ten minutes to defeat Pardobice 5-4 in the Czech Extraliga Wednesday night in Kladno.  It was the Knight’s  first game after their ten day December break.  Plekanec finished the night with three assists.  Linemate Jaromir Jagr scored three goals and an assist in the game.  Plekanec has seven points over his last three games and 45 points in 27 Czech League games (20 goals, 25 assists).  Jagr and Plekanec  are second and third in the Czech League scoring race behind Třinec forward Martin Ruzicka.

Kladno will play the Pirates at Chomutov on Friday night.

In the East Coast Hockey League, Scott Gomez missed his fourth straight game with a lower body injury but the Alaska Aces scored a 4-3 home ice shootout win over Stockton California.  The Utah Grizzlies beat Idaho 4-2.  Again, Colby Armstrong was not in the Utah lineup.

The Kontinental Hockey League resumed play Wednesday but the locked out Canadiens will wait until Thursday night to resume their schedule.   Andrei Markov and his Vityaz teammates will host Severstal while Ak-Bars Kazan and Alexei Emelin will be in Moscow to play CSKA.

The Swiss National League will pick up play Friday night with Geneva (Yannick Weber) at Fribourg (David Desharnias) and Zug (Raphael Diaz) hosting Lugano.

In the Finnish Sm-Liiga, Lar Eller and JYP Jyväskylä will play at Turku Thursday night.
