The Canadiens announced their lockout shortened forty-eight game – 99 day schedule Saturday night. They will open next Saturday against Toronto and play Carolina on Tuesday before hitting the road for Washington for Thursday January 24th.
Seven of their first nine games will be played at the Bell Centre.
Again the Canadiens have scheduled Sunday games in the week leading up to the Super Bowl. They’ll play the New Jersey Devils at 6.00pm January 27th and the Ottawa Senators at 2.00pm on Super Bowl game-day.
The Canadiens will face Northeast Division rivals Toronto and Buffalo five times, and the other two division opponents Ottawa and Boston four times, accounting for 18 of the 48 games. Three games will be played against each of the other 10 teams from the Eastern Conference , a total of thirty games.
The so-called regular season will wrap up the way it started, with a game against Toronto on April 27th.
