brossard dressing roomRene Bourque skated alone for about an hour before his teammates took to the ice.  He hasn’t been cleared by doctors to resume full practice.  He was sidelined February 21st with the residual effects of a concussion.

With Brandon Prust joining Bourque on the injury list the Canadiens have 21 on their current active roster.  Prust is not yet on injury reserve.  (A player may be placed on IR when it is determined by team doctors that he will miss at least seven days from the time of injury.  He can then be replaced on the active roster).   Look for another  recall from Hamilton, probably the defensively responsible RW Michael Blunden, the highest scoring forward remaining on the Hamilton roster.

The players currently on injury reserve are Petteri Nokelainen, Yannick Weber, Bourque and Raphael Diaz.

It will be Carey Price against Ben Bishop (probable) in Wednesday’s game at the Bell Centre.

The Senators practiced Tuesday in Ottawa without Chris Neil.  Neil was hit from behind by Adam McQuaid in Monday night’s shootout loss against Boston.  He later  returned to the game.  He, and defenceman Sergei Gonchar who also skipped practice, are expected to play against the Canadiens.  The Ottawa  practice lines –
