HABS GAME DAY – Bourque Joins Practice/Armstrong to Third Line/Enroth in Goal for Buffalo/Blunden Returned to Hamilton

bourqueRene Bourque practiced with his Canadiens teammates Tuesday morning for the first time since he left the team February 21st with what was originally diagnosed as the flu but became, a week later, concussion.

Bourque was wearing a blue no-contact jersey in the morning skate pending full clearance from the Canadiens medical staff.  It’s believed Bourque suffered the concussion during a fight with Toronto’s Colton Orr February 9th.   If so, It took almost two weeks for the concussion symptoms to surface.

In his first seventeen games on a line with Tomas Plekanec and Brian Gionta, Bourque had 5 goals and 5 assists.

On the other Brossard facility ice surface Brandon Prust (shoulder separation) and Yannick Weber (knee strain) continued to skate on their own.

Coach Michel Therrien made adjustments to his third and fourth lines at the morning skate.  Gabriel Dumont will centreTravis Moen and Ryan White while Colby Armstrong, who scored his first goal of the season Saturday against New Jersey, has been promoted to the Eller line with Alex Galchenyuk.

The Sabres have elected to go with Jhonas Enroth in goal replacing the slumping Ryan Miller.

Michael Blunden was returned to the Hamilton Bulldogs Tuesday morning.
