…..The Canadiens are looking for a three game season sweep of the Hurricanes the first sweep since the team moved to Carolina. The last time the Canadiens were undefeated against the franchise was 1983-84 when they were the Hartford Whalers and played in the Adams Division (7-0-1).

…...Subban is the Canadiens leading scorer with 27 points. Michael Ryder has 28 points this season but exactly half of them were scored when he was with the Dallas Stars. With ten goals, he is also the third leading goalscorer behind Tomas Plekanec (13) and Brendan Gallagher (11).
…..The Hurricanes ended a seven game losing streak Saturday with a 3-1 in Winnipeg that left them 4 points behind the Jets for the lead in the Southeast Division.

….Justin Peters was the losing goaltender when the Hurricanes lost to Montreal March 7th. It was his second NHL start. Against Winnipeg Saturday he stopped 34 shots for the win. He had given up four goals in each of his previous three starts.
….Eric Staal has failed to register a point in five of the last six games against the Habs. Still, he has 19 points in his last 15 games against Montreal.
….The Staal/Semin/Tlusty line has scored 40 goals in 33 games this season. Staal leads the way with 16.
….Brendan Gallagher is the third highest goalscorer on the Canadiens with 11. Among league rookies he is second one goal behind Florida’s Jonathan Huberdeau‘s 12 and third in points behind Huberdeau (25) and Tampa’s Cory Conacher (24). Gallagher missed the last game against the Hurricanes because of a concussion.
….Carolina forward Jeff Skinner suffered a concussion February 14th against Toronto. In the 13 games before the injury he had 7 goals, 7 assists. In the 15 games since his return he has five points (3goals,2assists).
