The Canadiens trimmed five players from their training camp roster yesterday and today divided the remaining players into two groups for the purpose of their seven game exhibition schedule.
Under NHL rules, there must be eight NHL experienced players in the lineup for each game (30 NHL games last year or 100 career-first round draft picks can be included in the quota).
The Canadiens will open their exhibition schedule at the Bell Centre tomorrow night against Boston. Twenty members of the 24 player “A” group will see action. The “B” group will play Friday night at home against Ottawa.
