The Canadiens have been divided into two camps for the final week of their exhibition schedule; the basic team that the coaching staff will want to open the season in eight days and the second group will be made up of players returning from injury and those who have earned a final evaluation before being sent to the Hamilton Bulldogs training camp.
After using ten or more rookies in each of their first four exhibition games, against the New Jersey Devils Monday night, veterans will dominate the lineup.
The only rookies with any chance of making the team are centre Michael Bournival and defencemen Jarred Tinordi and Greg Pateryn. Pateryn is currently out with a minor lower body injury suffered Saturday night against Carolina.
