……The Canadiens will be missing two of their left wingers, Max Pacioretty with an injured left leg or hip and Rene Bourque with the flu.  Travis Moen will replace Bourque on the Plekanec line, Brandon Prust with Desharnais and Briere.  Rookie defenceman Nathan Beaulieu will play with White and Bournival on the fourth line.

…….At plus-10. the Canadiens have the second best goal differential in the Eastern Conference (20GF/10GA).   Toronto is plus-11 (27/16).  The Canadiens rank 4th in the league overall, with San Jose (+21) and Colorado (+15) leading the way.

 ……Daniel Briere will be playing against Columbus for the seventh time in his fourth different uniform.  Playing for Phoenix, Buffalo and Philadelphia he has eight assists in six games.

……P.K Subban, after failing to register a point in the season opener, now has a five game point streak going: 2 goals, 6 assists.  His eight points leads all NHL defensemen.

…..Subban has been on the ice for 14 of the Canadiens season total of 20 goals.  Of the ten goals scored against the Canadiens, Subban was on-ice four times.  Even strength he is plus-6.

……Columbus has won four of their last five games at the Bell Centre including the last meeting, 3-2 in a shootout Dec. 6, 2011.   The Canadiens have a 2-2-3 home record against Columbus since they came into the league in the fall of 2000.

…..The Blue Jackets are having trouble scoring.  They have just two goals on 64 shots over their last two games.  They have scored only seven 5-on-5 goals in five games.

 ….Carey Price has stopped 74 of the last 75 shots he’s faced in his last two starts.

……In the four games since giving up four goals to Toronto opening night Price has stopped 118 of the 123  shots  he’s faced, a .959 save percentage.

…..Price has made four starts against the Blue Jackets in his career and is 1-2-1 with a 2.70 goals against average .

…..Sergei Bobrovsky has started all five Columbus games this season.stopping 117 of 124 shots (94.4 per cent) in four games since allowing four goals in a season-opening loss to the Flames. He’s  allowed more than two goals once in five starts.

…..Bobrovsky is  4-1-0 in five career starts against the Canadiens with a 2.41 goals-against average.  All of his starts against the Canadiens were while he was in Philadelphia.

…..Lars Eller has scored on 35.7% of his shots – a team-leading 5 goals on 14 shots.

…..Andrei Markov leads the Canadiens in average shifts per game at 29.0 followed by Raphael Diaz @28.7 and Subban @ 27.8.    Subban leads in average ice time 24.58 with Markov at 24.24.
