The Hamilton Bulldogs will host the Grand Rapids Griffins Friday night at Copps Coliseum and play Utica at home on Sunday.
With the return of defenseman Greg Pateryn, the Bulldogs will have as close to a full lineup as they’re going to get this season. Their only long term injury is rookie defenseman Darren Dietz who will miss four to five weeks with a broken wrist.
Pateryn was called up to the Canadiens October 28th as insurance in case of injury or illness to one of the Canadiens starting six on defence but did not seen any game action.
The Canadiens, with 90 man-games lost to injury so far this season, have liberally used the Hamilton/Montreal pipeline. Since the season opener, the Canadiens have used their recall option eleven times involving seven players.
It is probable either Pateryn, Jarred Tinordi or Nathan Beaulieu will get the call again, perhaps as early as Sunday when the Canadiens face the New York Islanders.
For the record, the players on the Hamilton roster called up since October first are D-Nathan Beaulieu (4X), RW Patrick Holland and D-Pateryn (twice),RW-Louis Leblanc and C-Martin St. Pierre. D-Jarred Tinordi started the season with the Canadiens and was assigned to the Bulldogs October 23rd.
