Timing is everything. Max Pacioretty played his best game of the pre-season last Sunday against the Minnesota Wild. He recorded the first assist on two goals while playing on a line with Dustin Boyd and Ryan White. He was plus two..had four shots on goal and registered four hits. All of the things you would like to see in a power forward. Problem is, Pacioretty also picked up an “upper body” injury that kept him out of the lineup the next two games. Pacioretty is healthy now, but whatever slim chance he had of making the team out of training camp disappeared. The Canadiens sent him to their Hamilton training camp today.

Thirty players remain in training camp including three goaltenders, 10 defensemen and seventeen forwards. This includes the injured defensemen Andrei Markov and Roman Hamrlik, goaltender Curtis Sanford and forwards Hunter Bishop and Ryan Russell.
