Game Notes

….The Lightning are currently on a five game winning streak averaging close to four goals per game during the streak.  The Lightning haven’t had a longer regular-season run since winning six straight Jan. 18-Feb. 1, 2011, though they also won eight in a row a few months later in the playoffs.

….With seven days between games the Canadiens have had the longest holiday break of any NHL team.

…The Canadiens have won five of the last seven meetings with Tampa. They have won their last two games at Tampa.

…With a 6-1 win at Florida Monday, Tampa goaltender Ben Bishop became the league’s second goaltender to reach 20 wins. He’d never had more than 11 in four previous NHL seasons.

… This game three of six in a row on the road.  Carey Price has started out with a 1-1-0 record, giving up eight goals and an .873 save percentage.

…… Price is 9-6-3 with a 2.45 GAA in 18 career starts against the Lightning,  Peter Budaj is 2-1-0 with a 3.36 GAA over three lifetime appearances versus Tampa.
