hamilton crestThe Hamilton Bulldogs long road trip didn’t start off the way they wanted. In Austin, the Texas Stars shut them out 4-0 Tuesday night.

Justin Dowling scored twice for the Stars. Scott Glennie and Taylor Peters got the others.

Cristopher Nilstorp faced only twenty shots en route to the shutout, five of them from Mike Blunden and four more from Gabriel Dumont.

The loss all but assures the Bulldogs of missing the playoffs for the third straight season.  The are nine points behind the 8th place Rochester Americans with 11 games remaining on their schedule.

The Bulldogs play the second of their 9-game 18 day road trip on Friday in San Antonio.
