Game Notes

..The last time the Canadiens won a game at the Joe Louis Arena was Nov. 26, 2008, a 3-1 victory. Carey Price was in goal.

..The Canadiens have won three straight games and five of six to rebound from a stretch in which they dropped four of five games.  

….Detroit currently holds the final Eastern Conference wild card spot despite being tied in points with three others.  The Wings haven’t missed the playoffs since 1990 – 22 seasons.

..The Red Wings had won four straight in the Motor City before losing Sunday’s game against Minnesota.

… Max Pacioretty leads the Canadiens with 32 goals and is tied with P.K. Subban for the team scoring lead with 50 points.

….Daniel Briere needs on goal to reach the 300 plateau.  

….Carey Price is 7-1-0 in his last eight decisions with a 2.01GAA and a .943 save%.  

….Jimmy Howard is 3-1-0 with a 2.58GAA and an .898 save% in four career games against Montreal.

….Gustav Nyquist has a team high 25 goals after totaling four in four games over the past two seasons. He has nine goals during a six game scoring streak, one short of Anaheim’s Corey Perry, who has the season’s longest streak of the season.  He is also won short of the longest Detroit streak in 20 seasons dating back to Brett Hull Nov. 26-Dec 8, 2003.  

….Nyquist’s 20 goals in 24 games since January 20th are the most in the NHL over that span.  

.Against the Canadiens Nyquist has scored two goals and an assist in this season’s two games against the Habs including the overtime goals with 28 seconds left Feb. 26th at the Bell Centre.

…Despite not playing since Feb. 8th, Henrik Zetterberg still leads the team with 48 points.  He is recovering from back surgery after getting hurt at the Olympics.   

.In his career Daniel Alfredsson has 107 points in 91 games against Montreal (31-76 – 107).  He has two assists this season against them.

. David Legwand has eight points in ten games against the Habs (3-5-=8)

 .Injuries have plagued the Red Wings all season. To date they’ve lost 228 man games, second only to Pittsburgh’s 371.
