8-Nathan Beaulieu – Hamilton Bulldogs

The Canadiens recalled defenceman Nathan Beaulieu from the Hamilton Bulldogs Thursday as roster insurance following the three game suspension to Douglas Murray.  it is the seventh time the Canadiens have exercised their recall rights on Beaulieu. He has registered two assists in sixteen game in Montreal.

In anticipation of the suspension, the Canadiens paired Jarred Tinordi with Murray’s defence partner Mike Weaver in practice Thursday morning.  Beaulieu is expected to be a healthy scratch for Friday’s game in Ottawa.

MONTREAL, QUEBEC – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have recalled defenceman Nathan Beaulieu from the Bulldogs.

Beaulieu has split this season between Hamilton and Montreal. In 54 games with Hamilton, the 6’2”, 194-pound defenceman has recorded 25 points (six goals, 19 assists) and 33 penalty minutes. In 16 games with Montreal, the Strathroy, Ontario native has recorded two assists and eight penalty minutes.

In 121 career American Hockey League regular season games with the Bulldogs, the 21-year-old has recorded 56 points (13 goals, 43 assists) and 96 penalty minutes. In 22 career National Hockey League games with the Canadiens, he has recorded four assists and eight penalty minutes.

Beaulieu was selected by the Canadiens in the first round (17th overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
