rockford IIThree-on-three hockey hasn’t been what the Hamilton Bulldogs would want.  For the second straight night, the Bulldogs were forced into overtime and lost the game when the overtime extended from the 4-on-4 stage to 3-on-3.   Rockford centre Peter Regin scored at 5:25 of the overtime to give the IceHogs a 2-1 victory before 2,250 fans at FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton.

Friday night the Toronto Marlies edged the Bulldogs, also in a shootout.

Christian Thomas opened the game’s scoring the first period.  Rockford’s Joakim Nordstrom tied it in the second period setting the stage for the overtime.

Mike Condon was in goal for Hamilton, stopping 26 of 28 shots including five in the overtime.  Final shots on goal were 35-28 in favour of the Bulldogs.
