The Canadiens have sent forward Michaël Bournival and defenseman Nathan Beaulieu to the Hamilton Bulldogs for conditioning purposes.
The Canadiens have had been mostly injury free since the start of the season. For that reason, team depth has not been tested and it’s left Bournival and Beaulieu on the outside, looking in. Bournival has not played in a game this season and, with the rapid improvement of Jarred Tinordi, Beaulieu has been a healthy scratch the last three games.
This is Bournival’s second trip to Hamilton in a week. He scored a goal in one of the two games with the Bulldogs last weekend and returned to the Canadiens on Monday. Hamilton will play three games in less than 72 hours this weekend. Beaulieu and Bournival are expected to play in Friday’s game against the Marlies in Toronto and the first of back to back home games against San Antonio on Saturday and then fly to Edmonton to rejoin the Canadiens on Sunday.
