The Hamilton Bulldogs were defeated by the Abbotsford Heat 3-2 in the first game of their North Division Final series on Thursday at Copps Coliseum. David Shantz stopped 30 of 32 while Gord Baldwin had the game-winning goal for Abbotsford.

The Bulldogs are missing several key players especially on defence. .  P.K. Subban is up with the Canadiens, Yannick Weber is listed as day to day with an undisclosed injury and Mathieu Carle is out with a shoulder problem.  Up front Max Pacioretty (shoulder) and Eric Neilson (back) also are out long term.

The Bulldogs will host the Heat for Game 2 of their North Division Final series at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 2nd at Copps Coliseum.
