.Defenseman Jeff Petry will make his Canadiens debut wearing #26.   RW/LW Torrey Mitchell and RW/C Brian Flynn are expected to join the Canadiens from Buffalo Tuesday in Anaheim.  

….To make room for Petry and the return of P.A. Parenteau to the lineup defenseman Greg Pateryn and forward Michael Bournival have been reassigned to Hamilton.  

….Four players who were in the Sharks lineup in the loss to Ottawa Saturday have been traded including James Sheppard, Tyler Kennedy, Tye McGuinn and Andrew Desjardins.  Ben Bishop was acquired in the Desjardins trade and Chris Tierney has been recalled from Worcester of the AHL. 

.The Canadiens last win over the Sharks at San Jose was 15 years ago, a 3-2 overtime win Nov. 23, 1999. (Sergei Zholtok had a goal and an assist for the Canadiens and Vincent Damphousse had a goal and assist for San Jose}.

.The Canadiens have a four game winning streak going outscoring the opponents 17-5.

.The Canadiens have won 11 of their last 13 road games.

.San Jose has beaten the Canadiens three straight. In last season’s two meetings the Sharks shut out the Habs both times.

.The Sharks have lost eight straight at home (0-6-2). They were 3-8-2 in February.

.San Jose is in danger of missing the playoffs for the first time in 11 seasons. Only Detroit has a longer consecutive playoff string at 23. They trail Minnesota by five points for the final wild-card spot in the West and Minnesota has a game in hand.

.Price will be looking for his 11th consecutive road victory. He was NHL Second Star for the month of February going 9-1-1 with a 1.34GAA and a .949 save percentage and two shutouts.

.Alex Stalock gets the start in goal for San Jose. This is the first game of back-to-back. Antti Niemi will get the start inVancouver Tuesday. ….Stalock has allowed 13 goals in his lat three appearances, all losses  He has not won since January 6th. .  He has a 5-7-1 record this season with an .899 and a 2.85GAA.  

 

.Antti Niemi stopped all 49 Canadiens shots in shutting them out twice last season by 2-0 and 4-0 scores.

.Niemi is 2-6-1 in his last nine starts and has allowed three or more goals in six of those games. In his last eight starts at home he is 0-6-2 with a 3.49GAA.
