1 galch paciorThe Canadiens will have a different on-ice look from the one that won all those games through the first third of the season.

The team called up 21 year old centre Charles Hudon from St. John’s on Tuesday where he will join IceCaps teammates Sven Andrighetto, Christian Thomas, Daniel Carr and goaltender Dustin Tokarski.  At the same time right wing Alexander Semin cleared waivers and was assigned to St. John’s.  Whether he reports is a matter to be decided.  What it means, the Canadiens will play the bruins Wednesday night at the Bell Centre without the availability of three rightwingers with whom they started the season, Semin along with the injured Brendan Gallagher and Devante Smith-Pelly.

Hudon joins the team as the St. John’s IceCaps top goalscorer with 10.  He also had ten assists in 24 games.

With all of that, when the Canadiens face the Bruins Wednesday, all four of their lines and two of their defense pairings have been shuffled.

Although Michel Therrien hates giving number-designations to his lines, with Max Pacioretty moving up to play with the emerging Alex Galchenyuk and rookie Sven Andrighetto most of the rest of us will start calling them the first line until they or somebody else proves differently.

Lars Eller will play with Plekanec and Byron on a second line with Dale Weise skating on the right side  with David Desharnais and Paul Byron. The two other St. John’s recalls Daniel Carr and Christian Thomas make up two thirds of the fourth line with Brian Flynn.

On defense, Alexei Emelin will play once again with Jeff Petry and Nathan Beaulieu, who has struggled a bit in the last three games, will play with Tom Gilbert who will move back to his natural right side.

Through all of the shuffling only the defense pairing of  P.K. Subban and Andrei Markov remains the same as it was a week ago.

Here is the projected lineup for Wednesday night at the Bell Centre. Whether it looks the same when the Canadiens face the Red Wings in Detroit on Thursday remains to be seen.
