1 teddy bearNotes –

….The IceCaps held their annual Teddy Bear Toss between the first and second periods.  More than 3,000 stuffed toys were collected by the Salvation Army and will be delivered to Newfoundland/Labrador children in need.

….This was the IceCaps first home loss in regulation time after 11 games. Their home record is now 6-1-4.

….The IceCaps were with out four of their top seven scorers. Christian Thomas, Charles Hudon, Daniel Carr and Seven Andrighetto along with goaltender Dustin Tokarski are now up with the injury plagued Canadiens. As a result, for the seventh consecutive game coach Sylvain Lefebvre was forced to go with 11 forwards and 7 defensemen.

…..First game of the season for left wing Michael Bournival, who cleared waivers and was sent to St. John’s last week. Bournival hadn’t played in game since March 13th with the Canadiens due to a concussion and it’s aftermath. Bournival played on a line with rookie Michael McCarron and Bud Holloway.

….Jacob de la Rose came back after missing eleven games with an injury  to score the IceCaps only goal. He centred a line with Brandon McNally and team captain Gabriel Dumont.

….Dumont led both teams with seven shots on goal and drew first assist on the de la Rose goal.  He now has ten points in his last ten games (3g, 7a).

….Canadiens 2014 first round draft choice Nikita Scherbak remains on the injury list. Neither he, nor rookie defenseman Ryan Johnston who underwent back surgery during training camp is expected to be available until mid January.
