1 rochester saturdayThe Rochester Americans came from behind to edge the St. John’s IceCaps for the second night in a row Saturday. Tim Schaller scored midway through the third period to tie the game at 2-2 and then Jason Akeson scored the game winner in the second minute of overtime.

It was the 11th time this season that the IceCaps were forced into overtime.

Gabriel Dumont and Stefan Fournier scored for the IceCaps. The other Americans goal was scored by Jerome Leduc.

The IceCaps continue their their four game homestand on Tuesday with the first of back to back games against Albany. Following that they are off until December 26th in Toronto.

Notes –

…..Jacob de la Rose assisted on Dumont’s goal which gives him a point in each game since coming back after missing 11 games with an upper body injury.

….Four of Gabriel Dumont’s six goals have come in the last 11 games.  Along the four goals over that stretch he has 7 assists for 11 pointgs.

….The IceCaps have lost only one home game this season in regulation time for a record of 6-1-5.

….Once again the IceCaps were missing four of their top seven scores. Sven Andrighetto, Daniel Carr, Charles Hudon and Christian Thomas are on recall to the Canadiens along with goaltender Dustin Tokarski.
