1 MARLIESGabriel Dumont scored with 37 seconds remaining in regulation time to give the St. John’s IceCaps a 5-4 win over the Toronto Marlies Sunday at the Ricoh Coliseum. The win gave the IceCaps a split of the two game weekend series against the Marlies who currently have the best record in the American Hockey League.

Dumont’s goal came less than a minute after Toronto’s Rinat Valiev had tied the game. Dumont and Michael Bournival each had a goal and an assist in the game. Joel Hanley, Bud Holloway and Jacob de la Rose also scored for St. John’s.

Also scoring for Toronto was Brendan Leipsic, Zach Hyman and Justin Holl.

Eddie Pasquale was in goal for St. John’s stopping 22 of 26 Marlies shots. Ray Emery started in goal for Toronto.

….Toronto has lost six games this season; four of them against St. John’s.

….With the win St. John’s now has a record of 15-8-7.

….The third game of the IceCaps five game road trip will be in Rochester Wednesday.

….Jacob de la Rose was back in the lineup after missing 12 of the last 14 games with an injury. Also returning after a lengthy stretch on the injury list was forward Markus Eisenschmid.

….Prior to the game the Canadiens sent defenseman Dalton Thrower and forwards Tim Bozon and Anthony Miceli to Brampton of the ECHL.
