….Joel Hanley was called up from St. John’s Sunday morning and will replace Victor Bartley on the third defense pairing. He will wear #71 for his NHL debut. (Bartley is day to day with lower body injury).
….Sven Andrighetto out with upper body injury (suspected concussion after Dion Phaneuf hit in Ottawa). Jacob de la Rose replaces him in lineup.

….Calgary will probably play with five defenseman. Derek Engelund who normally plays on the first pairing with Mark Giordano has returned to Calgary for the birth of his second child. The likelihood of a replacement arriving from their Stockton California farm club in time for the game is remote.
…..Forward Sam Bennett returns after missing four games with a middle body injury. Niklas Backstrom makes first goaltending start in 15 months and first with Calgary.

….Backstorm has made three career appearances against the Canadiens – all at the Bell Centre. His record is 1-1-0 with a 2.45GAA. He was also in the 2009 All Star Game at the Bell Centre, his only All Star appearnace.
….Backstrom‘s only complete game against the Canadiens was a 3-1 win Dec, 17/09. On March 20-2011 he relieved Jose Theodore after he had given up 5 goals on 19 shots. Canadiens won 8-1. He lasted only 1:36 of the first period in his other start before coming out of the game with a groin injury. The Canadiens won the game 5-4 in a shootout.
…./This will be Backstrom’s first appearance outside of a Wild uniform where he is the team’s all time goaltending leader in game’s played (409), wins (194) and shutouts (28). He had a no trade contract with the Wild and agreed to the trade only if Calgary guaranteed a couple of starts before the season ended.
