Lineup Changes

….Both Brendan Gallagher and Daniel Carr return to the lineup.  Jacob de la Rose injured.

….6’4” defenseman Brett Lernout recalled from St. John’s to replace Nathan Beaulieu. Lernout will wear #36 and play on the third pairing with Darren Dietz.

….Gallagher, who returns after missing 12 games with a suspected groin injury will play on a line with Alex Galchenyuk and Max Pacioretty.

….Carr suffered a knee injury at Columbus January 25th. He will start the game with Mike McCarron and Phillip Danault.

….Mike Condon starts in goal for the Canadiens.

….Third of four meetings. Florida has won both games outscoring the Canadiens 7-2; at Sunrise Dec. 29th 3-1 and 4-1 March 15th at the Bell Centre. This is the first of consecutive games between the two. Florida will play at the Bell Centre on Tuesday.

….The Canadiens subtracted forwards Gallagher and Carr from their injury list and added defenseman Nathan Beaulieu (broken thumb) and Jacob de la Rose (undisclosed), the injury list remains at ten.

….Brett Lernout becomes the 43rd player to dress for the Canadiens this season, surpassing the then-record 42 players used during their 2000-2001 season.

….Lernout is also the seventh player to make his NHL debut with the Canadiens this season. (McCarron, Carr, Dietz Hudon, Holloway, Hanley and Ellis. Goaltender Zach Fucale was also up for one game but did not get into a game)

….Lernout is also the 17th player recalled from St. John’s this season.

….Four of the six starting defensemen in this game are considered rookies. In that group, Greg Pateryn is the veteran with 54 games played over parts of three seasons. The other three have less than ten games each – Dietz (9); Hanley (6) and Lernout (0).

….In his first six NHL games Joel Hanley has five assists.

….Sven Andrighetto has a goal and three assists in a three game point streak.

….P.K. Subban will miss his 11th straight game because of his neck injury.

….The Panthers enter the game two points ahead of Tampa Bay in the race for first place in the Atlantic Division. While the Canadiens were shutting out Tampa Thursday, the Panthers were setting a franchise record 43rd win with a victory over New Jersey.,

….The magic number for the Panthers to earning only their second appearance in the playoffs in the last 15 years is three points.

….All five of Florida’s remaining games are against teams eliminated from playoff contention including the two against the Canadiens.

….The Panthers have averaged 3.58 goals per game since March 7th which is tied for second best in the league over the last month.

….Mike Condon will make his 49th start of the season. In his 15 starts dating back to February 22nd, Condon has a record of 7-6-2. In the games Condon didn’t start (Scrivens) the Canadiens were 1-3-0.

….This will be Condon‘s second career game against Florida. He stopped 32 of 36 at the Bell Centre in the 4-2 loss March 15th. Ben Scrivens made his Canadiens debut in the December 29th game at Sunrise.
