….Mark Barberio claimed off waivers by Colorado and LW Daniel Carr assigned to St. John’s.

….For the Flyers LW Dale Weise replaces Travis Konecny on the line with Braydon Schenn and Wayne Simmonds. Defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere also a healthy scratch.

….It is exactly one year to the day since the Canadiens last played at Philadelphia – Feb. 2, 2016;  Philadelphia-4 Canadiens-2.

….The last ten games in Philadelphia, the Canadiens have a record of 1-9-0. Their only win at Wells Fargo Center over the seven seasons was Oct. 11th 2014 when the Canadiens erased a 3-0 third period Flyer lead and P.A. Parenteau scored the winner in the fourth round of the shootout. Andre Markov led the three-goal comeback with a goal and two assists.

….Over the same seven year stretch, at the Bell Centre the Canadiens have a 9-3-0 record vs. Philadelphia including their 3-1 and 5-4 wins this season.

….In the last week the Canadiens injury list has been reduced from five to one. Only Brendan Gallagher remains on injury reserve with a broken hand. He is not expected to return to the lineup until around March first.

….With as many as seven on their injury list at times, the Canadiens still finished the month of January with an 8-5-1 record. Only Washington (72), Minnesota (71) and Columbus (70) have more points in the standings than the Canadiens’ 67.

.Paul Byron has scored 14 goals on 62 shots on goal this season leaving him with a league-best shooting percentage of 22.6%.

….Since the start of the 2011-12 season, Max Pacioretty has recorded six three-goal games tieing him over that time frame with Alexander Ovechkin and Tyler Perry. Tyler Seguin leads with seven.

….This will be the first of a five game home stand for the Flyers.

….As part of their 50th anniversary celebration six former Flyers captains will be honoured before the game including Lou Angotti, Bobby Clarke, Bill B arber, Dave Poulin, Eric Lindros and Chris Pronger.

….The 5-1 loss at Carolina Tuesday ended a three game Philadelphia win streak.

….Until mid-December the Flyers had the league’s third best offense with 105 goals in 32 games – an average of 3.28 per game. In the 19 games since the Flyers have scored 34 goals – 1.78 per game and their record over that stretch is 6-10-3.

….The Flyers have allowed the first goal in 33 of their 51 games. Only Colorado has allowed the opening goal more often. When the Flyers do score the first goal they are 11-4-3. Giving up the fiorst goal they are 14-16-3.

This season he has failed to score a goal in 27 games and is a team-worst minus-19.   In 5 career games vs. Montreal Gostisbehere had six points (2g, 4a).

….Jakub Voraceck has 22 points in 21 games vs. Montreal – 4 goals, 18 assists.

….Wayne Simmonds scored goals in three straight games last week and was named the MVP of the All-Star game. As a result he was named the NHL’s first star of the week.

….Team captain Claude Giroux has two goals his last 22 games.
