Midway through Monday night’s game in Philadelphia, the Canadiens will reach the one-quarter mark of their season.  However, NHL coaching staffs like to break their seasons down into ten game segments, looking for statistical improvements from one group of games to the next. The following is a comparison of the first two ten game segments of their 2010-2011 sason.

Defensively the Canadiens were improved from the first to second segments although they recorded one fewer win and three fewer points. From one segment to the other we note Tomas Plekanec continuing on a point-a-game pace, Brian Gionta beginning to get his game in gear. Scott Gomez continuing his struggle. And Carey Price getting better with every game.
