It started with bad night in Philadelphia followed by a first-rate job at home against Los Angeles, another flat night in a shutout loss in Atlanta and another bounce-back win over the Sabres Saturday night.

Leading the way -In four games, Andrei Kostitsyn and Brian Gionta 2 goals 2 assists. Tomas Plekanec 1 goal two assists. Benoit Pouliot-three assists, Maxim Lapierre -two goals.

Carey’s Week – Three starts – 2 wins 1 loss. He stopped 101 of 106 shots against him for a .953 save percentage. Price started the week with a 2.00GAA and a .932 save%. At the end of the week he is at 1.95 and .935.

The Games – Monday @ Philadelphia Flyers-3 Canadiens-2. Lapierre scores first two goals of the game. Flyers roar back with three. Price faced 21 shots in he second period. Canadiens were outshot 36-16 through the last two periods. Wednesday @ Bell Centre – Montreal-4 Los Angeles-1. Andrei Kostitsyn with a goal and assist and first star. Lars Eller scores first goal as a Canadien. Named second star. Price’s league leading 13th win of the season. Friday @ Atlanta Atlanta-3 Montreal-0. Alex Auld makes his second start of the season. Didn’t get much help. Jacques Martin likes to say that the first and third periods of this game were fairly even; it was the second period that did the Canadiens in. Others weren’t so generous in their opinion of the Canadiens effort. Martin is right about the second period. The Canadiens were outshot 23-4 and gave up two of the three goals. Saturday @Bell Centre Montreal-3 Buffalo-1. Another rebound from a loss. The Canadiens have lost two games in a row only once this season. Carey Price loses the shutout with 1:13 remaining. Big night for the Plekanec line which accounted for all three goals. Gionta scored two goals on eight shots. Kostitsyn also scored. Price stops 35 of 36.
