Notes – When Chris Kelly scored a shorthanded goal Sunday night in New York it ended a drought of 202 minutes, 57 seconds, the longest in Senators history. They had previously been shutout by San Jose and Buffalo. Ottawa’s Daniel Alfredsson is the longest serving NHL captain. He is in his 11th season at the helm after being appointed in October 1999. The Senators recalled leftwing Bobby Butler from Binghamton for the Rangers game. Butler was leading the AHL in goals with 15, one more than Canadiens prospect Max Pacioretty.
