Michael Cammalleri will miss tomorrow night’s game in Manhattan. He is thought to have the ‘runs’, a slang term for the bacterial stomach infection known as “gastro”. Whatever it is, it forced him out of the game Saturday night against Boston early in the second period and it kept him out of this morning’s practice at the Bell Centre.
Gastrointestinal infections can be contagious which may have led to the decision to keep him out of tomorrow night’s game against the Rangers. Cammalleri’s availability for Wednesday night’s Bell Centre game against the Pittsburgh Penguins is unknown, but considering the potential nature of this type of infection, don’t count on it.
Lars Eller will come out of the press box to replace him on the line with Tomas Plekanec and Andrei Kostitsyn.
Watch for Alex Auld to make his 5th start of the season tomorrow night with Carey Price getting the call Wednesday against Pittsburgh at the Bell Centre.
