MARKOV TRAVELS TO PITTSBURGH

May 7th, 2010 | By | Category: Canadiens, Stanley Cup Playoffs

What’s with Andrei Markov?

He suffered a knee injury after a legal hit by the Penguins Matt Cooke in game one of the Eastern Conference Semi-final and hasn’t been seen since.  Until today.  Markov was on the flight to Pittsburgh with his teammates this afternoon.

There was a rumour, started by The Team 990, that Markov had suffered, variously, a torn medial collateral ligament (MCL) or anterior collateral ligament (ACL) in his right knee and he was finished for the season.

While purposely vague about routine injuries, the Canadiens are normally forthcoming when the injury is long-term.  Their silence on the Markov matter has been deafening.

Meanwhile, noticeable is Markov’s equipment, which continues to be hung at the regular spot right next to Hal Gill in the Canadiens dressing room.
