NO HABS CHANGES FOR GAME 5

Never accuse Jacques Martin of not knowing a good thing when he sees it.

There will be no basic changes in tonight’s Canadiens lineup for tonight’s fifth game of the Eastern Conference Semi-Final against Pittsburgh.

Jaroslav Spacek is practicing with the club but is still bothered with “labyrinthitis”, that inner ear infection that affects his balance.  He’ll miss his 9th straight game tonight.  Andrei Markov will also watch the game from the press box.  That said, nobody is complaining about the work of the six defencemen Martin has been using in the playoffs, including the sometimes-challenged Marc-Andre Bergeron.

Expect Martin to start the game with the same alignments with which he started game four.  After that, it’s a game of adjustments depending on the score and the tactics of Dan Bylsma behind the Pittsburgh bench.

On the Pittsburgh side, Bill Guerin returns to their lineup.  He’s been out since game one with an elbow problem.  The Penguins hope Guerin’s presence will change the fortunes of their power play, which scored four goals on the Canadiens in the first game of the series and is 2 for 11 in his absence.
