Whatever Jaroslav Spacek’s lower body injury is, he’s not on the limp. I ran into him on my way into the Bell Centre last night. He was walking without noticeable difficulty, which probably indicates his unspecified injury is a groin pull or something in that neighborhood.
Whatever. It’s serious enough to prevent him from travelling West with his teammates, which means Brendon Nash stays with the team along with the other four rookies that played in last night’s game against the Buffalo Sabres.
That’s the bad news. The good news? Hal Gill will make the trip, although he’s not likely to play in Edmonton tomorrow night, the first of the three-game western swing. Gill has the always-popular “upper body injury”. Michael Cammalleri is also on the trip and is projected to be a starter in Calgary Sunday or Vancouver on Tuesday.
