Four unanswered goals in the third period, two of them into an empty net,  gave the Hamilton Bulldogs a 5-2 win over the Abbotsford Heat in game five of the AHL’s North Division final.  Veteran AHLer Andre Benoit scored the winning goal with 3:23 remaining in regulation time to win the game for the Bulldogs who have played the series shorthanded because of injuries and the callup of all-star defenceman P.K. Subban.

The Bulldogs scored five unanswered goals, including four goals on six shots in the third period to win the game

Earlier in the period, Mike Glumac’s second goal of the game had tied the game at 2-2.

Ryan White and David Desharnais scored into the empty net in the final 33 seconds.

The Heat, a Calgary Flames farm club, are faced with winning sixth and seventh games of the series in Hamilton if they wish to advance.
