Help may be on the way for the Canadiens.  Sooner, rather than later.

The Canadiens practiced this morning at their Brossard training centre before flying to Boston for their meeting with the Bruins tomorrow.

On the ice were Mathieu Darche, Tomas Plekanec, Jeff Halpern and Brent Sopel.  Darche is likely to be in the lineup tomorrow after missing fifteen games (and seventeen of nineteen) with a groin injury.  Plekanec and Halpern skated makeshift fifth line with Nigel Dawes this morning.  They are close to returning but perhaps not tomorrow.  A decision will be made after the morning skate tomorrow.      Both made the trip to Boston.

Defenseman Brent Sopel also practiced but he’s still in the recovery process from a broken hand.  He can handle the puck but the injury continues to hamper his slapshot.  He’s already missed seven games.

Carey Price took the day off for treatment of a bruised thigh he suffered in the morning skate  yesterday, an injury that didn’t keep him out of last night’s game against Buffalo and he’ll play in Boston.

For what it’s worth, here’s the way the team practiced today –
