Nigel Dawes scored at 9:11 of the second overtime period to give the Hamilton Bulldogs a 5-4 win over the Houston Aeros and force a seventh and deciding game in the AHL’s Western Conference final.  The Bulldogs became only the third team in the 75 year history of the American Hockey League to some back and tie a series after trailing 0-3 in games. 

The game belonged to goaltender Drew MacIntyre.  The Bulldogs were oushot by the Aeros 61-37.

The Bulldogs are now 4-0 in elimination games this spring.  McIntyre’s career record in elimination games is 10-2.  He was making his 40th consecutive start for Hamilton dating back to his acquisition from the Chicago Wolves at the trade deadline in February.

The Bulldogs have scored shorthanded goals in their last three games.

Game seven will be played at the Toyota Centre in Houston on Tuesday with the winner to move on to meet the Binghamton Senators in the Calder Cup final.
