After their stunning 4-3 come-from-behind win over the Bruins in Boston, the  Flyers will play the Canadiens in the Eastern Conference Final starting Sunday at 7.00pm Sunday at the Wachovia Centre in Philadelphia.  It’s the first time ever a number 7 seed (Philadelphia) will meet a number eight seed (Montreal) in a conference final.

The Flyers will enter the series with less than 48 hours rest while the Canadiens have been off since their seventh game win in Pittsburgh on Wednesday.  Starting Sunday, the series will run every other night for as long as it lasts.  That means games three and four will be played at the Bell Centre Thursday night and Saturday afternoon at 3.00pm; the Saturday afternoon game to satisfy the NHL’s contractual obligations with the NBC Television Network in the US, while shortchanging  regular Saturday night Hockey Night in Canada viewers.
